~ tHe aH cHeK & aH sOh wOrLd ~

i've got a fren whom i constantly calls him ah chek, despite his real name being douglas tay

he's an aspiring chef and someone in the limelight in recent months

it's funny how our friendship started off.....

we know each other in this small little auditorium inside the STB building

it was during the augural WGS Masterclasses,approx 4yrs ago

i was then a "young" wash-pot girl while he was the assistant to a hosted michelin chef

we just started teasing and chatting during "resting" times,which kick spark on this friendship

it's amazing how several tiny details brings fate to us

he's also by the surname of TAY

the mrx which he chauffered me around is by the carplat number of 84, the yr i was born

he wears specs which i totally do go weak on the knees

he dresses in the most sloppy-stylish wardrobe of collar-up polo tee,berms and snickers

but.....i hated his habit of constant smoking,which makes him look like a drug addict

and he has an ego as big as the universe,lol

there and then,he's one nice guy who's a total gentleman and i give plus point to that

many a times,i used my guy-buddies as a very high benchmark of how a man shld behave

anw,received a call from him just before i board the plane

ah chek: "ah soh,when you leaving for perth?"

ah soh: right now leh,liew eh,cant chat,the security ask me to put dwn the phone,88

thereafter,i called him back shortly while walking to the plane's gate

ah soh: eh,paiseh,cant use phone la,u super call on the wrong time can

ah chek: got such thing as cannot answer phone call in airport one meh?

ah soh: got la,at the scan bags and body area ma...

ah chek: oh...so fast boarding liao huh...never inform me...

ah soh: lol

ah chek: anw,better dun come back empty handed hor...

ah soh: oh pls,when u came back frm past 2 trips,also empty handed can!

ah chek: u go more holidays than me,u also empty handed come back lor

ah soh: kaoz.....

ah chek: i treat my frens very fair one,how they treat me i treat them back the same

ah soh: kaoz...ok lor,like tat u really win le lor....

the above scenario really made me ponder

it's indeed very true...

i have always live & preach the Four Seasons Hotel Golden Rule of

"to treat others the way you wish to be treated"

it's been awhile since i've been fully expose to this philosophy

i am glad that i am being reminded once again

it's time to bounce back :)
