Sonoma County, California

Dajie & I headed to this tiny town which aint tiny in what it has to offer

Wine tasting & indulging on delicacies is just what you can expect

The town's nicely decorated

With free-style trees and unqiue shops to entice the retail therapy needs

The main reason being there would be to join a Chocolate Tour

It was indeed something that we both were anticipating for

As expected, the group is indeed small with only 3 enthusiast including ourselves

*lol lol lol*

It was dumb for the organizer to not remind its customer to bring along ID for wine tasting

I was indeed sad that I had to forgo tasting those wines

Nevertheless,

We embarked on the journey, trotting from wine cellars to pastry shops

We started off at this really unique wine tasting room

Toad Hollow

It's a collaboration of two old friends who, more or less,

retired to an existence of peace and quiet in the Hollow, after a life of whirlwind world travel

Costeaux French Bakery & Cafe

Built in 1923

It really has a whole olden days feel and look

Everywhere on the wall were hung with medals that were won since the day of establishment

I fancied the toilet alot which was decorated with wine labels throughout

We tried on 2 different chocolate-based cake

Triple Choc Mouse & Choc Truffle

Lake Sonoma Winery

Sonoma is the birthplace of modern winemaking

Today, Sonoma has surpassed Napa and has grown to number one in grape sales,

yet still has significant potential for more growth by planting in unexplored territory

It's unique wines are made from the sub-appellation vineyards

of the Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys

Sweet Memory Chocolates

Found the largest Strawberry coated chocolate

About the size of a kiwi fruit/lemon

??? Big enuff ???

!!!!! Overall, the whole tour sucks !!!!!

The chocs were below par

The wines were tasteless, as i tasted none

..... But .....

Something my dearest Dajie bought on the day of my arrival made up for it

A simple choc tart from a simple bakery in Berkeley

*Heavenly taste* Yummy*

We chanced upon this massive Candy Store

Powell's Sweet Shoppe

It's an old-time,old-fashioned,old-world candy store taken from America's imagination

Everyone has an extremely vivid and pleasant memory of where they went as a child

to get their favorite candy - whether it was the corner store or their Grandma's candy dish

Powell's Sweet Shoppe are a nostalgic re-creation of that classic and bygone era

The whole shop is just infested with nuthing but candies and more candies

We were both so fascinated with the amount of sweets that one can find

They offer almost everything that I've seen in all the countries I have travelled

!!! It's totally crazy !!!

At least we ended the whole experience in Healsburg on a nice note

I feel like a kid in a candy store and I haven't seen that since I was a kid

It's like walking down memory lane and reminding me of good things and good time
