In fact, it was just any other dayNonetheless, we need to fill-up those growling stomachs of oursSettled again in a Tapas Cafe and had several mini bites*yummylicious*
As yesterday was a "No Shoppping" day in the whole BarcelonaWe decided that those 'material-needs' within us needs to be satisfiedThus it was a few hours of jalan jalan around the famous shopping district
Las Ramblas & Plaza CatalunyaAm always a fan of Onitsuka TigerThus, very excited when I saw this brand in Barcelona streetsUsed to not be able to find a size for my puny feetSeveral years back, used to envy a friend of mine who managed to buy a pairHowever,its no longer an issue anymoreOwn a pair of it several months back, Limited Edited*Love it to bits*
Barcelona is just a place for sightseeing and beautiful architecturesI enjoyed these visits more and more as years goes byI learnt to appreciate such detailed and refined worksI guess studying in UK have changed several of my mindsetNo longer yearning for just a simple holiday, but more of an adventurous oneYearning for more nature works and histories behind those cold walls
Park GuellOne of Antoni Gaudi's best loved contributions to BarcelonaContrasting nature forms with his trademark in tile workA playful, whimsical, fairy-take park covering 15haFresh air, woodland walks and views over the cityThe park is laid on the slopes of the unpromisingly named Mont Pelat (bare mountain)It was a long journey up a steep slope to this famous attractionCame across this real mini playgroundReminiscing the past and just cant help but sit on the rubber tile and had a few swings
The entrance is a wrought-iron gate vaguely reminiscent of palm leavesFlanked by a pair of gatehouses that comes straight out of a children's fairy taleIn fact they inspired by the story of hansel and Gretel
This one, topped by a mushroom, is the house of the witch
This one, surmounted by a double cross on the roof, is the children's house
Both houses are almost totally covered in trencadisThis well loved creature has become an instantly recognizable symbol of the park
TrencadisThe method of piecing together broken pieces of pottery and glass to form an abstract mosaic is known in catalan as trencadis, a technique thought to be the aerliest example of collage
We reached the top of Park Guell and it indeed have much more of a magnificent viewI feel so re-freshed looking at the vast escapdeMany group of friends, couples and families were just relaxing by the benchesCuddling and mingling around under the mere shining sunFeona was so generous to initiate paying for those beautiful Friendship bandsEveryone had one of their own choices*smilez*Bliss*
